Here we are with another blog on the series “KNOW OUR WORLD”. In this blog, we will talk about a country, famous for its high standard of living and highest production of wind energy, i.e., Denmark.

Denmark is a Scandinavian country, consisting of a peninsula called Jutland and an archipelago of 443 islands. It is a developed country and has one of the highest rankings in some metrics of national performance like education, health care, protection of civil liberties, democratic governance and LGBT equality.

The flag of Denmark is red with a white Scandinavian cross that extends to the edges of the flag. Colors symbolize strength, bravery, and hardiness.

Denmark lies in Northern Europe. Denmark belongs to the Scandinavian countries and is the smallest country of Scandinavia.

Denmark borders the North Sea and the Baltic Sea of the North Atlantic Ocean.

The longest river : River Guden.

The largest lake : Arresø.

The Highest Mountain : Møllehøj.

The Danish flag ‘Dannebrog’ is the oldest flag in the world still in use by an independent nation.

Bicycles are the most preferred mode of transport in Denmark.

The Danish Alphabet has three additional letters: Æ, Ø, and Å.

It has the world’s oldest and second most old amusement parks.

Denmark became the first country to legalise same-sex unions in 1989.
