1. In the recently released ‘The 2021 World Air Quality report’ Delhi ranked fourth among cities and topped among capitals.  

A) The report said Delhi saw a 14.6 percent increase in PM2.5 concentration in 2021, with levels rising to 96.4 ug/m3 from 84 ugs.m3 in 2020.

B) Thirty-five of the world’s 50 most polluted cities were in India.

C) According to the report, Bhiwadi in Rajasthan was the most polluted city in the world followed by Ghaziabad.

2. The Ministry of Power launched the ‘Go Electric’ Campaign to promote Electric Vehicles.

A) The objective of this campaign is to create awareness among the masses about the benefits of switching over to Electric Vehicles.

B) This campaign is being implemented through State Nodal Agencies (SNA) designated by States for coordinating activities to roll out Public Charging Infrastructure in States.

C) Under this campaign, Workshops, Webinars, Technical talks, Seminars, Road Shows are being organised to connect with the masses and spread the message of going electric.

3. The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has been observed annually on 21 March across the globe.

A) The theme of this year’s observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was ‘voice for action  against racism’.

B) This day also encouraged people globally to strengthen their voices  against racism and a safe environment for all those speaking out against racism.

4. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and FICCI organised ‘WINGS INDIA 2022’ from 24th-27th March 2022, Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad.

A) This is Asia’s largest event on Civil Aviation focusing on business aviation, commercial and general aviation.

B) This event was organised under the theme ‘India@75: New Horizon for Aviation Industry’.

5. On 22nd March 2022, the Maharashtra Police and the Indian Army’s Agnibaaz Division conducted a joint exercise named Suraksha Kavach 2 at Lullanagar, Pune.

A) This exercise was conducted to coordinate the procedures and drills undertaken by the Army and Police to counter any terrorist attacks in Pune.

B) In this exercise took a part of Maharashtra Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad, Maharashtra Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad, India Army’s Counter-Terrorism Task Force and bomb Disposal Teams of the army, as well as the police.

6. The Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has inaugurated the ‘Step-Up to End TB- World TB Day Summit’ on 24th March 2022.

A) This summit showcases India’s commitments towards the elimination of this disease and meeting its objectives of TB elimination.

B) PM Modi set the target to end TB across the country by 2025.

7. India and Uzbekistan have conducted a joint exercise ‘EX-DUSTLIK’s on 22nd to 31 March 2022 at Yangiarik, Uzbekistan.

A) The 2nd edition of ‘EX-DUSTLIK’s was conducted in March 2021 in Ranikhet, Uttarakhand.

B) These two armies will focus on Counter-Terrorism operations conducted in semi-urban terrain and also aim to boost the cooperation, understanding, and interoperability between the armies of both nations.

8. Recently the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has implemented The Rooftop Solar Programme Phase-II.

A) Through Central Financial Assistance (CFA), 4000 MW rooftop solar (RTS) capacity addition has been targeted under this programme in the residential sector.

B) This is a demand-driven programme and the capacities are assigned based on the demand that is received from the distribution utilities and other implementing agencies of the governments.

C) Under this programme, Rs 1,132.74 crore of Central financial assistance has been distributed to various electricity distribution corporations.

9. Recently NASA has discovered 65 new planets outside the Earth’s solar system.

A) These newly discovered planets have to create a milestone in space exploration.

B) Planets are discovered in a long laborious manner that requires observations done for many years along with looking into data from space-based as well as ground-based telescopes.

10. The Haryana government has passed the ‘Haryana Prevention of Unlawful Conversion of Religious Bill, 2022’.

A) This bill looks to prevent the conversion of a person’s religion through force, fraudulent methods, allurement or under the guise of marriage.

B) These Bills have also been passed in Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

C) Under this scheme a person changing religion on their own will not be penalised under this new bill.
