1. On the 7th of April World Health Day is observed across the globe.

A) This day is celebrated to discuss health-related issues and draw attention to specific health issues from across the world.

B) The first World Health Day was celebrated on 22nd July 1949.

C)’Our Planet, Our Health’ is the theme for this year’s World Health Day.

2. One Health Pilot project has launched in Uttarakhand with the collaboration of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF)

A) Objective of this project is to develop a One Health roadmap based on the experience gained from the pilot project’s implementation.

B) Under this pilot project, activities like data collection on prevalence, laboratories network integration, disease outbreaks, etc strategies will be undertaken.

3. On 6th April 2022, Union Minister for Jal Shakti launched the Digital Dashboard for District Ganga Committees (DGCs) Performance Monitoring System’ (GDPMS).

A) The digital dashboard has been launched to help the DGCs in enhancing the connection between the people and the river Ganga.

B) The DGCs utilise the assets created under Namami Gange to rejuvenate the river and monitor any sewage falling into the river.

4. Recently, the Global Wind Report 2022 has been published by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC).

A) In this report, the wind energy sector had its second-best year but wind energy installations need to be increased dramatically so that it remains on track with the net-zero goals.

B) The report has called for a significant increase in capacity installation to achieve net-zero goals. ramp up in capacity.

5. Recently, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has praised India’s efforts for food distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A) The IMF has also stated that India’s extreme poverty is less than 1 percent and this was also maintained in 2020.

B) During COVID-19 government has provided a food subsidy program through the government initiative Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).

6. According to the Atomic energy minister, In-Principle approval has been accorded by the government of India for five new sites for locating nuclear power plants in the future.

A) At present, 22 reactors are operational in the country with a total capacity of 6,780 Mega Watt.

B) To produce fuel for all the indigenous PHWRs in the country, fuel fabrication capacity has been augmented in the facilities that are available at the Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad, and the upcoming Nuclear Fuel Complex, Kota to provide for the existing as well as the upcoming PHWRs.

7. Ketanji Brown Jackson  was confirmed by the Senate as the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court.

A)She is a jurist and American attorney who has served as a federal judge since 2021.

B) She will replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer.

8. The Ministry of Ayush has organised a two-day scientific convention in New Delhi.

A) The theme of this scientific convention is ‘Homoeopathy: People’s Choice for Wellness’.

B) This convention is an opportunity to review the path trodden so far, achievements in the field of Homoeopathy and to formulate future strategies for the development of Homoeopathy.

9. NITI Aayog has released the State Energy and Climate Index-Round 1.

A) State Energy and Climate Index-Round 1 aims to rank states and UTs on six parameters like  1-Access, Affordability and Reliability of Energy 2-Discoms’ Performance 3-Energy Efficiency 4-New Initiatives 5-Clean Energy Initiatives 6-Environmental Sustainability.

B) The index can be used by the states and UTs to benchmark their performance against their peers, analyse the potential challenges to develop better policy mechanisms, and efficiently manage their energy resources.

10.’Tomb of Sand’ became the first Hindi language work of fiction to be shortlisted for the International Booker Prize.

A) This book, translated into English by Daisy Rock-well and described by the judges as a ‘loud and irresistible novel’, will compete with five other titles from around the world for the 50,000-pound literary prize.

B) Geetanjali Shree is the author of this novel and she was born in Uttar Pradesh.
