1. DU launches a new admission policy for Under-Graduate programmes.

A) In this new policy, scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency will be the sole eligibility criterion for admission to DU colleges.

B) The new policy does away with the cut-off system based on Class 12 board examination results.

2. Recently, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has launched Mega Food Park Scheme (MFPS).

A) This scheme was launched under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) to create an economic infrastructure for food processing and their market.

B) The Ministry has approved 41 Mega Food Park projects out of which 22 parks are operational.

3. The Union Minister of State Science & Technology, Space, PMO and Earth Science jointly launched Integrated Bio-refineries.

A) This mission has been launched with the aim of accelerating and enhancing clean energy across the country through Public-Private Alliances.

B) This mission has the partnerships of international organisations, civil society, the corporate sector and other countries.

4. Recently, External Affairs Minister S.Jaishankar introduced a bill in the Weapons of Mass Destruction(WMD) and their Delivery Systems(Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill.

A) The Bill would give the government powers to ‘freeze, seize and other EC resources owned or controlled by such a person.

B) The earlier law of 2005 regarding WMDs and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) only banned their manufacture.

5. Recently BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was sold to the Philippines in a bilateral deal.

A) The BrahMos missile was a joint development between India and Russia.

B) BrahMos is a medium-range two-stage missile with a carrying capacity of 250-300kgs

C) BrahMos missile speed ranges from MACH 2.8 to MACH 3.

6. According to the World Health Organisation’s database the entire global population breathes 99 percent of the air that exceeds air quality limits.

A) For this survey, WHO monitored the air quality of a total of 6,000 cities in 117 countries.

B) The data also measured particulate matter with a diameter smaller than or equal to 2.5 microns (PM2.5) or 10 microns (PM10).

7. SEBI has constituted a committee that will make recommendations and review for the strengthening of government norms at stock exchange and market infrastructure institutions (MIIs).

A) The committee consists of six members and G Mahalingam, a former whole-time member of SEBI, will be chairing this committee.

B) The committee was constituted after the alleged corporate lapses of governance at NSE were revealed.

8. On 6th April, the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) is observed annually.

A) This day recognizes the positive impact due to sports on the harmony and peace of various communities across the globe.

B) ‘Securing a Sustainable and Peaceful Future for All: The Contribution of Sport’ is the theme for this year’s International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. 

9. The government of Tamil Nadu has recently formed a 13-member panel to frame the education policy of the state.

A) This panel will be headed by retired Delhi High Court Chief Justice D Murugesan.

B) The state is opposing the NEP due to several reasons that include common entrance tests under the NEP for all UG programmes.

10. Recently, the Indian government has introduced the Indian Antarctic Bill-2022.

A) This bill aims to regulate activities and visits to Antarctica as well as all potential disputes that can arise among those nations that are present on the continent.

B) Under this bill, dredging, drilling, collection of mineral resources, and excavation have been prohibited in the region except for scientific research purposes that too with a permit.
