1. Recently, Palli village became India’s first panchayat to become carbon neutral.

A) Palli village is located in the Samba district of Jammu.

B) In Palli in a total area of 6,408 square meters 1,500 solar panels have been set up.

2. According to the carbon dating technique, the Asurgarh fort settlement in the Kalahandi district of Odisha has been placed in the Iron Age.

A) Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) radiocarbon technique to establish that this settlement spanned over three cultural phases beginning from the ninth century BC to the third or fourth century AD.

B)This site’s cultural period has been divided into three phases that are Iron Age, Early Historic Period, and Late Period.

3. Recently, NASA has released an equity action plan to make space more accessible.

A)This Equity Action plan has deepened the commitments to identify and remove the barriers that are limiting opportunity in the underrepresented and underserved communities.

B) By 2029, NASA has aimed to increase the outreach events for the underserved communities by 50 percent.

4. The National Framework for Malaria Elimination (NFME) 2016-2030 outlines the strategies of India to eliminate the disease by the year 2030.

A) This framework helps to eliminate malaria from the country and contributes to improved quality of life, health, and poverty alleviation.

B) The NFME defines objectives, goals, targets, strategies, and timelines that will serve as a roadmap for planning and advocating malaria elimination in India in a phased manner.

5. Recently, Germany’s government announced that a group of companies developed a battery passport.

A) The battery passport will be tracing the environmental impact of European batteries.

B) Umicore, BMW, and BASF are some of the companies that are involved in this ‘battery passport’ effort.

C) This digital tool will also be making it easier to recycle the raw materials that are present inside batteries.

6. Japan has said that four islands near the Kamchatka Peninsula have been illegally occupied by Russia. 

A) These islands have been in the midst of a longstanding issue between Japan and Russia.

B) This dispute dates back to the end of the Second World War when the Soviet Union, a part of the allied forces, won the war against the Axis powers of Japan, Italy, and Germany.

7.NASA has showcased a picture of two merging galaxies that are located in the VV-689 system.

A) The image of the colliding galaxies has been taken from the Galaxy Zoo citizen science project.

B) The discovered galaxies are either lone, within immense clusters, or part of small groups. Some galaxies have supermassive black holes at their galactic centers while some are giant bursts of star formation.
