1. Bharti group backed Satcom company OneWeb inked a deal with Isro’s commercial arm New Space India Limited (NSIL).

A)This inked help to provide global internet connectivity.

B) The launches thereafter will add to One Web’s total in-orbit constellation of 42B satellites,66 percent of the planned total fleet to build a global network that will deliver high-speed and low-latency connectivity.

2. Recently, the international arm of the National Payment Corporation of India has launched BHIM UPI across the UAE.

A) This initiative will be empowering the millions of Indians who travel to the UAE to make payments conveniently and safely.

B) The payments can be made using BHIM UPI across the NEOPAY-enabled merchant stores and shops. 

3. On 20th April 2022, K. Sudhakar launched the scheme named ‘Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully’ (SAANS).

A) K. Sudhakar is a Health and Medical Education Minister of Karnataka.

B) SAANS is a campaign that has been launched to ensure early detection and greater awareness of pneumonia in children under the age of five.

4. On 31st March 2022, the total crude oil production of India fell 2.67 per cent.

A) In the fiscal FY22, 19.45 million tonnes of crude oil was produced by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

B) Crude oil was produced by ONGC, which was 3.62 percent less than the previous year’s output and 13.82 per cent lower than the set target.

5. Mumbai’s first completely digital bus was inaugurated on the route of Gateway of India to Churchgate.

A) This digital bus service was inaugurated by Maharashtra environment minister Aaditya Thackeray.

B) This system will provide convenience and ease to the travellers as they will be able to tap in by using their smart card or through the ‘Chalo’ app that can be installed on their smartphones.

6. On 20th April 2022 Russia tested its new Inter Continental Ballistic Missile(ICBM) Sarmat.

A) This new ICBM was developed to replace the older ones.

B) The RS-28 Sarmat whose NATO name is Satan-II can carry a minimum of ten decoys and warheads.

C) It has the capability of firing over either pole of the earth and has a range of 11,000 to 18,000 km.

7. Recently, Ajay Kumar Sood has been appointed as the central government’s principal scientific advisor (PSA).

A) He has been appointed to the post for three years.

B) He will be succeeding renowned biologist K VijayRaghavan.

8. NITI Aayog and UNICEF India signed a Statement of Intent on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a focus on children.

A) This seeks to formalize a framework of cooperation to launch the first report on the State of India’s Children – Status and Trends in Multidimensional Child Development.

B) According to the Niti Aayog Vice-Chairman Dr Rajiv Kumar, this new initiative is built on the ethos of SDG attainments for children and ensuring that no child is left behind. 

9. Recently, the All England Club announced a ban on tennis players from Russia and Belarus at Wimbledon this year.

A) This decision is based on the war between Russia and Ukraine.

B) Wimbledon has become the first tennis tournament to do so despite the sport’s governing bodies allowing the players to compete in WTA, ATP and Grand Slam tournaments as “neutral players”. 

10. Recently, Pakistan’s new government has initiated a process to abolish the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor Authority.

A) The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority was established through an ordinance in 2019.

B) CPEC was aimed at accelerating the pace of CPEC-related activities, finding new drivers of growth, and unlocking the potential of interlinked production networks and global value chains through regional and global connectivity.
