WHAT IS SSC CHSL?
SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) is an annually conducted national level exam conducted by SSC to recruit 12th pass students as employees in various government ministries and departments. The exam is relatively easy but the competition is fierce since the required qualification is 10+2 pass.

SSC CHSL Notification:
SSC CHSL 2020-21 Notification has been officially released! As per the latest calendar released by the commission the date SSC CHSL Exam Tier I is April 12th, 2021 onwards. The tentative dates for SSC CHSL Tier II Examination and the subsequent process have not been released yet. The application forms for SSC CHSL 2020 would be filled between 6th November 2020 to 26th December 2020 (extended).
In order to secure a job through SSC CHSL, you have to clear three stages:
1.SSC CHSL Tier I which is a computer based exam.
2. SSC CHSL Tier II which is a descriptive paper.
3. SSC CHSL Tier III which is a typing test or a skill test
If you are able to clear all three stages your starting basic pay upon recruitment would range between Rs. 19900 to Rs. 25500.

SSC CHSL Syllabus and Exam Pattern:
The SSC CHSL exam pattern is as follows:

As far as the syllabus is concerned Tier I examination is mainly a screening and scoring test. It is designed to test you on your General Intelligence, General Awareness, English Comprehension and Quantitative Aptitude. The structure of the paper would be as follows:

NOTE* – There will be a negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.
After clearing the SSC CHSL Tier I examination you will move on to the next round which is SSC CHSL Tier II examination.
SSC CHSL Tier II Paper is of 100 marks. It is a descriptive paper where you would be required to write Essay/Letter/Application/Precis etc. You will be given one hour to attempt this paper.
This paper will be scoring as well as qualifying in nature.This means that you have to score atleast 33% in order to move on to the next round.
The final selection list is prepared by shortlisting applicants based on their cumulative performance across the first two tiers.
SSC CHSL Tier 3, a skill-based test is a final stage to ensure that candidates possess the required skills. This stage will be qualifying in nature.
Those who apply for the post of DEO will be required to give a skill test whereas others have to give a typing test.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria:
The basic eligibility criteria to appear for SSC CHSL examination is as follows:
Nationality: Citizens of India, Nepal and Bhutan can apply.
Age: Your age should be between 18 years to 27 years as of January 1st, 2021.
Educational Qualification: The basic requirement is only a pass certificate of class 12. For the post of DEO in the office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), you must have studied science and mathematics as main subjects in Class 12th.

The application procedure for this year’s SSC CHSL exam began on 6th November 2020.
